A desktop engineer who builds websites for people who build things.
I am Mike Nappi. My day job is keeping computer systems working for a large organization on Long Island — the kind of work where, if you do it well, nobody notices, and if you do it badly, everybody does. It teaches you to check things twice and to write down what you did.
Sites for Trades is what I do alongside that. It started with a simple observation: the roofers, masons, plumbers and electricians around me are mostly excellent at their work and mostly invisible on the internet, and the companies that offer to fix that either hide their prices behind a phone call or charge like they are building a bank.
How I build these
I use AI tools to build websites, and I would rather tell you than have you wonder. It is why I can show you a working demo of your own site in two business days and charge a monthly fee instead of an agency’s bill. It is also why every site gets checked on real phones, in daylight, by a person: the tools are fast and the tools are wrong sometimes, and knowing which is which is the job. Someone still has to know where the wall studs are.
The one rule
You see a working version before you pay for it. Not a mockup, not a slide: a real website with your name on it, at a link you can open on your phone. Your photos and final details go in after you say yes. If you look at it and say no, it comes down and you owe nothing. That rule is the whole business, and it is the reason I can afford to be straight about everything else.
Where I work
I am on Long Island, New York, and that is where this started. But a website is a website: if you are a tradesperson anywhere in the country and the see-it-first rule appeals to you, get in touch.
What I do not sell
- Promises about ranking first on Google. Nobody can promise that; anyone who does is selling you something.
- Advertising retainers. If you want ads later, I will tell you honestly whether they make sense for your trade.
- Claims on your site that you did not make. Licensing, insurance and guarantees go up only in your words, in writing.
